100wc Hard, Beautiful, Brown, Worried, Camera…

I have heard about this girl she had long beautiful brown hair. She doesn’t talk. She carries a camera as a tool of protection in case of anything unusual was to happen. She always has a worried look on her face, but why? There are roomers that she has been through hard times. I don’t like to say much but I know the reason she is like this. She had a best friend. They did everything together but one day someone toke her best friend Emily. She told everyone what happened but none believed her. She has been scarred ever since.

video reflection Anh Do

This is a link to the video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WhGETRI81DE

This video was an interview with a refugee Anh Do. He wrote a book called the happiest refugee and a picture book version called the little refugee. He is the author of wired do as well as some other books. In the video he was talking about his journey as a refugee (that is what the little refugee and the happiest refugee).

Anh Do is from Vietnam. He lived in a 3 room house sheared with 14 people as a young child. Although this sounds bad he was Quite happy. There were other kids for him to play with so it wasn’t that bad (in his point of view). Him and around 30 others bought a boat and they started a travel to Australia. On the way they  encounters 2 pirate attacks (pirates found them and stole all valuables).

After the pirate encounters they saw another ship but this time it was a German cargo ship. Before they would help the Vietnamese they needed them to see them in danger. So Anh Do’s dad got an axe and hit the boat with it so the boat would start sinking and the Germans would help them. The Germans took them to Australia and they were all just so great-full that they were all alive.

Was the group of people scared about the situation they were in? I would have been if I was in that situation. Is Anh Do writing any other books at the moment? The Video and book (the little refugee) helped me get a bigger understanding about what it was like for the refuge Anh Do and his family (neighbors).

If there is anyone reading this and is interested in Anh Do’s story you should think about reading the happiest refugee and the little refugee.

Video reflection Federation

This is the video http://splash.abc.net.au/home#!/media/1961881/federation-explained

This video was about how Australia was made one whole country. Australia wasn’t always one happy country it used to be divided into 6 different countries with different laws and rules. Australia was owned by Great Britten until one day were they decided to become one country as a whole.

A couple years later from forming Australia they added in two new territory’s. (Northern territory and Australian capital territory). When Australia was becoming a country western Australia didn’t agree what they should come to gather as a country. Eventually western Australia joined as  a country.

Why did they create the two territory’s? How did they create the the two territory? This video gave me more understanding of federation and the sorts of things that happened back then.

100wc ..but how can something so tiny…

I was just in the scariest situation, I was just going for a walk down at the park and a little kid was there. Then I went towards the cafe and the kid followed me. Then I went behind the trees to see if he would follow me. And he did alright he pounced out and he broke my finger with all his force. I could have died. Now looking back at it I thought ..but how can something so tiny… do this. Suddenly I realized this is why I don’t go on walks. I know they were bad news.

100wc …so that is why I am always last…

I always have to go last in sport and I will tell you why by the way I didn’t mean for this to happen. Okay I was just playing the game on day in sport and I was to good well the best and I got told off for it. ???? The teacher said that going first made everyone copy me. She didn’t want people copying me so I have to go last. You shouldn’t punish someone for being good. Anyway so that is why I am always last. At lest I can still play the sport. I guess?

100wc picture prompt

As I walked through the art gallery nothing seemed to interest or excite me. My family thought everything was cool but not me. I don’t know why? Yesterday I would have loved this but today I was in a weird mode. We then got to the outdoor section. something there did grasp my attention. It was a tree with huge modeled fingers placed in a formation like they were holding the tree. I don’t know why of all things this made me happy but I couldn’t take my eye of it. Why the only art my family didn’t like?

video reflection convicts

This is the video convicts

Times were hard back then. There was all sorts of crimes that happen but most times it was a robbery or someone had stolen something. There were different punishments for these crimes some being a death sentence or things like being locked up in prisons.

Some thought that the convict in the colony had it better and so they committed crimes to have the life of convict in the colony. But people relied this and gave those hard punishments. This means things like chains. when you have the chains on you can’t stand up and you can hardly walk.

One person that this happen to got extremely sick his stomach blots, arms and legs swell and is taken to the prison hospital were the iron chains are removed. then 5 days later he died in agony. He appeared to be sick before the chains where on.

I wonder what time this was? It seems quite long ago and it don’t think these punishment would be aloud in these days. Also I wonder what the two boys were expecting as their punishment? This video helped me understand the punishments that they had back then and about people back then.

BTN the first fleet perspectives

These are the videos aboriginals  and first fleet This reflection is about the two different perspectives between the aboriginals and the English.

The first fleet English people                                                                                   The first fleet was a series of 11 boats that came to Australia arriving on the 26th of January 1788. Each boat had a name. Some with different jobs. Six would transport convicts and they were the Alexander, the Friendship, the Charlotte, the Lady Penury, the Prince of Wales and Scarborough. Then there were two navy ships HMS Sirius and HMS supply. There were three ships full of the supplies they’d need to build a new colony. The golden grove, fishburn and borrowdale. Each ship carried more than 700 convicts packed in.

Why did they pack so many onto the one ship? why didn’t they bring over more ships?  Watching this video has helped me understand the English side of thing and there conditions but what about the aboriginals?

Aboriginals                                                                                                                      The aboriginals were confused about who these people were. They thought they were some kind of intruders and this made them scared. They were wanting to watch what the English people were doing. They also watch them to know if they were coming for them. Aboriginals tried to do things like put out their fires and make their camp not as obvious.

What did the aboriginals think when they saw the ships coming? Did the aboriginals get confused when they saw big ships coming towards there home were they didn’t get visitors? Watching this video made me understand more about some reactions that the aboriginals had so this makes me wonder what they thought of each other.
