SRC application

Hello class,

I would like to share with you some of the reasons why I would like to be SRC (in the Student Representative Council). These are some of the main reasons I would like to be SRC.

I think I am a great leader and that I know how to handle a group. I feel I am quite a reliable and dependable person also I am responsible and trustworthy. These are some of the qualities an SRC should have. They need these qualities so you no they will take your ideas back to meetings and actually go to them. Inform your class with information about upcoming events and other important things you the class needs to know.

I am a pretty organised person and I enjoy helping others to organised upcoming fundraisers. I believe I am creative and I would bring that to the roll especially when trying to organise fundraisers. I always love to help out in organising seiten things. I believe that is you get such a good feeling when you do. I would really like to be able to help and it would be great to do it for all of you.

I am ok with specking in public I have been the SRC in my class before and I really enjoy having that opportunity. I was also a character in the school play. I love to be able to talk and communicate with different people. I like to perform. I think that communication is a key aspect in leadership roles. If there is no communication thing can be misunderstood and get confusing. Also when you are SRC you need to be able to communicant to a variety of ages.

I love to learn and to learn new things. I know that the role of SRC opens opportunities to learn and to represent our school. I always try to say yes when there is a new opportunity. That is why I think I should be SRC. Thank you for lessening!

debate #2

Good morning Miss Chairman Ladies and gentleman to day I will be talking about why people should NOT be allowed to build their house in flood or bush fire prone areas. Prone means likely to suffer. In my speech I will be talking about the dangers and the effect on humans.

But now onto my rebuttal ………

Don’t you who how dangerous it can be to build your house in a flood or bushfire prone area. If a natural disaster hits you and your home is not safe. Parts of Queensland once tragically homes and lives were lost in Toowoomba when there was a food in Queensland late 2010 to early 2011.This shows obviously how dangerous it was, towns where even left under the water.

Why would you want to live somewhere where you are likely to suffer? Imagen if something like black Saturday happened and your house wasn’t protected you would be lucky for your house to be still perfect. If you don’t know what black Saturday was it was some of the worst bush fires in history. It killed a bit less than 200 lives and many more in danger and it was in Victoria early 2009. It is way too dangerous.

Now on to my second point. The effect on humans is major because lives and homes can be lost let alone animals and nature. These things can be tragic! This means that people can be left homeless and parts of the environment are left burnt or washed away. Most people will be left with a burnt or under water house and injuries at the lest. I hope you now truly understand how it is extremely dangerous for people to live in flood and bushfire prone areas. Thank you.

Hello Mr/madam chairman, girls and boys I am on the affirmative team about We should give money to other countries when they suffer from natural disasters. This means that if another country suffer from natural disasters we think that we should give them money to help them recover.

My second speaker will be talking about sympathy and the third speaker will be summing this all up.

Most people that survive natural disasters are left homeless ether because there house has been washed away, burnt, blown away or fall down and this are just some ways they end up homeless.

This people are probable suffering from injuries, loss of friends or family. Have you seen what natural disasters leave land people and areas looking like? It is distressful that some people think it is okay to leave them like that.

People need to get themselves to safety and normally people have trouble get themselves to safety letter lone things like food, animals, preseason. How knows when another natural disaster could hit.

If we don’t give them food, water, shelter, money, medical care, help to re-build more people can die and we want to avoid as much as we can.

I strongly believe that these people need help to get there community back the way it should be and we can help them with this. If we can help we should.

school captain speech

Hello 5/6 and teachers

My name is Carah and today I will be running for school captain. I know that this is a big roll and I am willing to take that on. I came to the school this year and that is probably my biggest weakness when we are referring to wanting the roll of school captain. I have a sister in year 7 and she was school captain at our old school. She has tort me a lot and told me some of the things that you have to do as school captain.

I am a pretty organised person and I enjoy helping others to organised upcoming events. I believe I am creative and I would bring that to the roll especially when trying to organise special events. I haven’t done much in the way of organising events but I am hopping that if I get school captain that I will get an opportunity to do something like that. I always love the way people put so much effete in organising seiten things and then they get the reworded of seeing what they have created. I believe that that is just so magical. I would really like to be able to have that experience and there is nothing better than doing that in front of you all.

I am ok with specking in public as you might know I am the SRC in my class and I really enjoy having that opportunity. I am also a character in the school play.I love to be able to talk and communicate with different people. I like to preform and do some pretty quirky thing like circus. These things give me confidence to be me and give things a go. I think that communication is a key aspect in leadership roles.  If there is no communication thing can be misunderstood and get confusing. Also when you are school caption you need to be able to communicant to a variety of ages.

I love to learn and to learn new things. I know that the role of school captain opens lots of opportunities to learn and to represent our school. I love the types of opportunity’s that school captain can give you. I always try to say yes when there is a new opportunity. That is why I think I should be school captain. Thank you for lessening!

prepped speech

Hello wold

Today I will explain to you why we build houses from bricks and wood and what the benefits are.

Bricks and wood work well together because it may be a Brick house but builders made the frame from wood and steel. Wood and bricks are quite similar.

The 3 little pigs made their houses from straw, sticks and bricks. Which pig was the smartest? It was the pig that made its house from bricks because bricks are way stronger than straw and sticks. Maybe if that pig that made its house from sticks made it from wood it would have been stronger.

Bricks are not just wolf proof it is also fire proof, pest resistant and weather resistant. It is quite along prose to make bricks. Bricks are easy to work with and can make different shapes and perfectly straight shapes. Bricks usually are red but to change the colour you have to cote it in sand mixed with zinc, iron or another oxide mineral.

Wood is a natural resource and is quite easy to come by. Wood is good for the environment and stores lots of carbon it is a nice and Appling to build with. It is quite a cheap resource and easy to work with because you can cut it into all different shapes and sizes.

Both of these materials when loss moisture most often water they begin to crack. They are both great insulators. They keep warmth inside or cold inside. They are both strong and easy to work with.

Just think for a moment what sorts of materials we would make house from other than wood and bricks. I hope you liked my speech and learnt a lot. No wonder people have been making house from wood and bricks for so long.

Thanks

reflecting on speech

When making my speech some difficulties I had was that I didn’t know where to start. I was struggling to make a speech that was good and be at a grade 5/6 level. I also didn’t know where to start. Some things that was strong in my speech are how I connected with the audience especially in the part where I talked about the 3 little pigs. I had practiced quite a bite making my eye contact get better. I still think I could have practiced a bite more and had smaller cue cards. I also could have had more practice and memorized it a bite more.  In subjects I can us specking and listing skills to pay more attention in class and speck confidently in class discussions. If I could choose 5 that I did well it would be:

  • My intro (second paragraph)
  • My conclusion (summary)
  • Connecting to the audience
  • My main body
  • How much eye contact

3 things to avoid when public specking is:

  • If your nerves and you go up at the end of your sentence like you are asking a question
  • Mumbling
  • Not looking up

3 personal goals for next time I present is to:

  • Memorise it my speech
  • Have smaller cue cards
  • Not be as nerves

SRC speech

      Introduction

hello world, today  I would like to say a few reasons why I should be one of our SRC reps and what I would do as an SRC

      a bit about me

I am a great listener and I am caring to others. I like to  draw and show my creative side but lets be more specific.

      my confidence

I sometimes get nerves about things but I am getting way more confident and brave especially with the help of my mum she        has tort me some strategies that help me to be more confident in  my self. an example was last year when I sung alone at              my school concert last year where i sung alone on stage.

      my sister

my older sister was school capten  a my old school and she has tort me quite a lot about leadership like the                                          commitments and how you miss out on some lunch/reseses doing jobs but i don’t care if i miss out.

         i’m organised

i am most of the time organised and i really try to be but some times i am not that organised. I like to set up everything for           class.

      i’m kind and caring

I will try to be as caring as I can and include all of your ideas but not everyone will always be happy. if I get it I know that               I will have to work with a grade 6 and I am okay with that.

    conclusion

my speech is coming to an end and it might  of been a bit doge  because i haven’t really ever don a speech like this or got a            leadership roll but I really wont to have one this year so thank you for listening.

on the day it wasn’t like this exactly because i used cue cards and the words just flowed right out
